"you are going to take the name tag off but it doesn't end. so don't stop!!"

[mom note:] I have been horrible at updating this blog but wanted to make sure Emily's last letter and feelings about her mission were here.

Yoo Hoo Family!!!
This week was AMAZING!!!!! And super spirit filled!
I went on trade-offs this week with Sister Jenkins. When I first came out on my mission she was a member in Montego Bay!! So it was really cool to have the opportunity to serve with her for a day. She is a wonderful missionary and I got to learn a lot while serving with her. Also, she got to try Little Ceasers for the first time while we were on trade-offs... it was a pretty big deal haha. She liked it and is hoping they will decide to open one in Montego Bay soon :)
Saturday was the COOLEST experience!!!!!! We got to meet Elder and Sister Martinez (Elder Martinez is a member of the seventy and the second counselor in the Caribbean area presidency) and Brother and Sister Owen (Brother Owen is the Young Men General President). Elder Martinez and Brother Owen both addressed us. Elder Martinez spoke about teaching by the spirit and Brother Owen spoke about the Doctrine of Christ. I am 100% convinced that Brother Owen came to speak to me. The message he shared was something that I really needed during this last stretch. So although my super cool family got to see Jason Mraz this weekend and my SUPER cool brother got to perform with him. I am so happy that I was here in Jamaica because I really needed to hear what was shared!! After Elder Martinez and Brother Owen addressed us we had lunch and then came back together as a mission and we were addressed by President Pearson and then all the Zone Leaders and STL's and AP's each did a 20 minute training. It was sooo cool to learn from everyone and to have the opportunity to share a training as well. BUT, my absolute favorite part was standing as a mission and singing "Called to Serve" and "We'll Bring the World His Truth". YOU COULD FEEL THE SPIRIT!!! I was just so happy to be a missionary and to be with all these other Elders and Sister who felt the same way :)
On Saturday evening, ABBEYGALE WAS BAPTIZED!!!!!!!!!!!! It was so amazing!! She was baptized by brother Johnson who came home from his mission in California six weeks ago. She looked so happy the whole time. After she came out the water and was getting changed I asked her how she felt and she said "I feel like I don't have to bathe for church tomorrow" haha. We are so happy for her and this decision she has made!!
On Sunday, Elder and Sister Martinez, Brother and Sister Owen and President and Sister Pearson came to the Portmore ward. My former Mission President, President Brown was also there. And I don't know if I told you this, but my trainer, Sister Bogle, is in the Portmore ward. So... all of these people were in attendance and it was my last Sunday so Bishop Scarlet asked me to share my testimony before Elder Martinez and Brother Owen spoke. I went up to share my testimony and part way through it hit me that this was my last Sunday with these amazing Jamaican people and so I may or may not have started to cry... The tears continued after I sat down haha. Brother Owen stood up to speak and at the end of his talk shared with the members his experience in speaking to the missionaries the day before. He then thanked the missionaries in the congregation for our service and said "Elders and Sisters it doesn't finish" then he looked at me and said "Sister when you go home to California you are going to take the name tag off but it doesn't end. So don't stop!!". The tears just kept flowing haha!! It was a very powerful sacrament meeting for me and I am so thankful that I got to share it with both of my AMAZING Mission Presidents and my trainer!!! I am sooo lucky!!!!!
It is hard to believe that this is the last email. But I am so thankful for this amazing opportunity to serve as a full time missionary! I am so thankful for the love and support through these past 18 months!
I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Jesus Christs church restored to the earth. I know that Joseph Smith is the prophet of the restoration. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I know that Thomas S. Monson is our prophet on the earth today.
I have learned a whole lot over these past 18 months and I will forever be thankful for this opportunity to wear this name tag.
Love you all!!!!!!!!!
